Volunteers Around the World is a NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) that provides aid to desolate areas throughout several countries around the world by improving their standard of living. Founded at Cornell a few years ago, Cornell University’s chapter focuses on VAW’s Medical Outreach program, which provides communities with access to medical treatment, medication, clean water, and education. VAW’s medical outreach program is an intensive internship for many doctors and those pursuing the medical field.  While volunteering, you will get the opportunity to learn how to assist doctors, perform triage, measure vital statistics, manage the pharmacy and teach public health classes with the help and supervision of doctors currently working there.
